MFC Vocal Studio:
A Closer Look

Michelle Francis Cook established MFC Vocal Studio in Barcelona, Spain, in 2006, building on her distinguished performance career at the Gran Teatre del Liceu.

She subsequently served as Head of Voice at Carro de Baco Theatre Academy in Sant Cugat for nine years, where she led the vocal program and collaborated closely with the Dance, Drama, and Clown departments to produce annual interdisciplinary events.

Recently, Michelle has returned to her homeland to base MFC Vocal now in Melbourne, Australia. She has established a thriving international vocal coaching business, mentoring students from Europe and Australia both online and locally in her Melbourne studio.

MFC Masterclasses in Studio

MFC Masterclasses are currently tailored for classical vocal students, with plans to expand offerings to contemporary singers in the future.

Masterclass Structure:

  • Each masterclass is a four-hour session, including a 15 -minute interval.

  • The session is divided into six segments, each lasting 30 minutes.

  • A professional guest pianist accompanies participants throughout the session.

  • During their allocated 30-minute slot, each student performs their chosen aria or song for their peers, receiving valuable feedback and support.

  • Repertoire selections may include opera, art song, operetta, Lieder, oratorio, or other classical works.

  • Duets or ensemble pieces can be arranged in advance upon request.

  • The studio can hold up to 12 auditors, including participating students.

This format ensures an immersive and supportive environment, allowing students to refine their performance skills and deepen their musical interpretation under expert guidance.

Each Masterclass features:

  • A focused 4-hour session with a structured 15-minute interval.

  • Six dedicated segments of 30 minutes each, allowing in-depth exploration of repertoire

  • Guidance from a distinguished guest pianist providing live accompaniment

  • Personalised performance opportunities where students showcase their aria or song for peers


The Acclaim Awards Masterclass for Opera Singers


As the Australian vocal coach for the Acclaim Awards, she prepares finalists for the Italian Opera Fellowship and Masterclass Series, and coaches awardees of the Acclaim Awards Ambassadorial Scholarships , guiding young Australian opera singers towards successful placements in academias and with private teachers in Italy. This is for intermediate to advanced opera singers with performance experience.
